Eva Mendes had nothing but great things to say about husband Ryan Gosling's "hilarious" Cuban accent impression on last week's episode of Saturday Night Live.
Gosling hosted the show on April 13th, delivering an extremely entertaining monologue and sticking around to perform a few skits, one of which he'd been practicing for since meeting Mendes and her Cuban family when the pair started dating in 2011. The skit in question, featuring the "Barbie" star, Kenan Thompson, and Marcello Hernández, opens with two friends at a bar trying to convince another friend to attend a wild party. Gosling delivers his best Cuban impression and wows the crowd throughout the entirety of the comedic performance. Mendes was so proud of her husband that she reshared the clip to her Instagram page.
"Coño! My Cuban Papi made this Cuban Mami so happy with this!! Gracias to the super talented @marcellohdz for this skit. The way you say “Eva Mendes” 😂! And @kenanthompson always crushing."
The "Hitch" actress mentioned that Gosling's stellar imitation likely came from years of hanging out with her Cuban father!
Mendes is extremely understanding of Gosling's career and feels very blessed to be around to raise their children when Gosling is working.
"It was almost like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, 'ok, he's going to work and I'm going to work. I'm just going to work here,'. He went and he did his job. He just happens to be really good at his job," the mother-of-two revealed during a March interview with The Today Show. Gosling is extremely grateful for his partner and never forgets to thank her and his two beautiful daughters, 9-year-old Esmeralda and 7-year-old Amada when accepting awards.
