Do you feel like you live in a dangerous city? There's a possibility that you do, based on a new report that lists one destination in Tennessee among the most dangerous places in the entire country.
Safe and Sound Security compiled a list of the 20 "most dangerous cities in America" in 2024, and one destination in Tennessee topped the list. Other cities featured on the list include St. Louis, New York City, Detroit and New Orleans, to name a few.
Ranking No. 1 overall, Memphis has one of the highest rates of violent crime in the country, with the most common crime being aggravated assault. Here's what Safe and Sound Security had to say about the safety issues concerning Memphis:
"Memphis has one of the highest violent crime rates in the country (at 24.37 per 1,000 people), with aggravated assault leading the list. The city has been actively addressing these issues through targeted policing and community engagement initiatives. Despite these efforts, the high rates of crime continue to impact the lives of Memphis residents, influencing everything from economic opportunities to daily safety."
