In the wake of Liam Payne's death, the former One Direction singer's family and friends have been taking to social media to mourn him, including his cousin Ross Harris.

On Instagram, Ross shared several photos and videos of him and Liam from over the course of their lives, and penned a heartbreaking note to his late "little cousin" to go alongside them. Harris talked about spending a lot of time with Liam over the last few months, writing, "we'd become close again like the kids we were growing up together. Late night songwriting sessions, making plans to tour and travel, and practicing stupid impressions — we didn't need much to have a good time."

Harris went on to recall some of his favorite memories with Liam, including learning Maroon 5 songs while they were growing up and hanging out backstage at music festivals.

Then, Ross shared, "Regardless of what you were going through, and the demons you were fighting, you always wanted to help others and wanted everyone to 'win together.' Hopefully the world will remember this above everything else. Not everyone got to know the boy behind the popstar, outside of stadiums and studios, but I count myself very lucky that I did."

He concluded his note by saying, "Rest easy little cousin, you were taken far too soon." Read Ross' full note below.
