Is there anything better than full plate of soul food? While the South may be known for housing restaurants that specialized in flavorful soul food, you can find eateries around the country that have perfected their take on the cuisine and have become a must-visit for foodies in search of a comforting meal.
Using reviews, awards and accolades as well as first-hand experience, LoveFood compiled a list of the "best soul food restaurant" in every state that serves up dishes full of "heartiness, comfort and finger-licking flavor."
According to the site, the top spot in all of Tennessee is H&T's Home Cooking, a Nashville eatery that crafts delicious, classic soul food staples sure to impress even the biggest skeptics. H&T's Home Cooking, located at 2264 Murfreesboro Pike, has a 4.2 star rating on Google and more than 700 reviews.

"H&T's Home Cooking Restaurant was opened by Hattie Palin and her husband Thomas in 2005, with the couple vowing to provide 'the best homestyle meals with excellent service' and, if reviews are anything to go by, they're doing just that. Expect big helpings of classic soul food, including meatloaf, fried catfish, shrimp and cheese grits, and fried chicken."
