A popular beverage product sold around the country has been recalled from dozens of states over a possible foreign matter contamination.

Dollar General Corporation has recalled three lots of its 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee due to the potential presence of glass, according to a recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This poses a serious risk to consumers as ingesting glass fragment could lead to injuries like "damage to the teeth, laceration of the mouth and throat, or perforation of the intestine."

The affected product features the UPC 876941004069 and includes the following lot numbers and best by dates: L-5163 (Best By 12/13/2026), L-5164 (Best By 12/13/2026) and L-5165 (Best By 12/14/2026). The product was distributed July 9-21 and sold exclusively at Dollar General retail stores in more than four dozen states, including in Tennessee.

Anyone who purchased the impacted product is urged to throw them away and can request a full refund from Dollar General via email at customercare@dollargeneral.com or by calling 1-888-309-9030 from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. CT seven days a week. As of August 11, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries in connection to the recall.
