David Archuleta fans were treated to something really sweet (and sultry) when the singer dropped his brand new single "Crème Brulée," and now, he's opening up about the track.
In a statement to iHeartRadio, Archuleta explained of his sugary new song, "'Crème Brulée' shows off my flirty side, really for the first time. It took a long time to get comfortable enough to release a song like this, and it's been great feeling comfortable, confident and sexy in my own skin. I have been completely blown away by the reaction - it means so much that people are enjoying and sharing the song."
On "Crème Brulée," David sings in the savory chorus, "Oh no/ There goes all of your clothes/ Speaking words you don't know/ Yo te vuelvo loco, loco/ Oh no, you want me in slo-mo/ Snap me like a photo/ Yo te vuelvo loco, loco/ I can't help that you don't wanna wait/ Ok/ Now you've had a taste of crème brulée."
Blending a fun pop tune with a few Spanish lyrics, "Crème Brulée" highlights multiple sides of Archuleta, and he explained in a press release, "All this time I’ve been singing Spanish covers, but I’ve never had that Spanish flare in my own pop music. I wanted to get in touch with my Latin roots, have fun, be flirty, and explore the sensual side of David."
"Crème Brulée" is expected to appear on a forthcoming EP from Archuleta, expected to be released this summer. Over the last few years, the singer has released several singles following his last album release in 2020, Therapy Sessions.
