Hilary Duff is coming clean about Ashley Tisdale's comments about "toxic" mom group drama.

The "Mature" singer, 38, sat down with Alex Cooper on the Wednesday (February 25) episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast where she explained how "taken aback" she was to learn about Tisdale's experience breaking up with her "toxic mom group" in an essay she penned for The Cut in January. While Tisdale didn't reveal who was a part of the group, speculation has swirled online that the group included familiar faces like Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor, per People.

"I honestly felt really sad. I was, like, pretty taken aback and just felt sad," she said.

She shared that feels "lucky" to have become "ride or die" friends with women she has met since becoming a mother. Duff shares daughters Banks, 7, Mae, 4, and Townes, 1, with husband Matthew Koma and 13-year-old son Luca with ex Mike Comrie.

"I have so many groups of friends. I'm so lucky. Motherhood has brought on, like I have my core group of friends who have been my ride or die for 20 years, 10 to 20 years, and I have tons of different groups of mom friends because I have four kids, you know?" she said. "So, I think I just was like, 'Whoa.' It sucks to read something that's not true and it sucks on behalf of like six women and all of their lives."

Duff, who just released her first album in over a decade luck... or something and is preparing for her The Lucky Me world tour, added that the essay dropped "at the craziest time" and that "the timing felt not great and I felt used."

The Lizzie McGuire alum isn't the only one to speak out on the essay. Trainor previously swore she was "innocent" and "not involved" in any drama, while Moore opened up about having to "mourn" the way some friendships have evolved over the years.
